That Driving Force

I feel compelled to explain myself again, why I haven't posted a single entry since... Since... See, I can't even remember. And yes, I'm that lazy to even check. I just want this entry to be over with. I feel forced to write this entry because...

THIS IS SUCH A MEGA AWESOME DAY, OKAY!!!

For the past few weeks, I've been too occupied with school and everything else; what with my visiting relatives and best friend for life staying here at our home for three weeks, plus homework and readings from my only class for the term, a deadly kind of concentration and determination for a successful topic thesis proposal, and a heap of tasks for my extra-curricular activities, I'd be lucky to have energy and time to visit my blog.

As I have mentioned, I've been focused on thesis ever since my thesis group met with our mentor. After several visits to our prospective partner organization, consultations with our thesis mentor, and a number of working lunches with my thesismates/lunchmates (as I fondly call them), we have come to this day. I have to say, I expected for our proposal to be approved right off the bat. Our mentor said so, too. Hihi. Turns out, we had to defend our topic. I haven't slept enough since Monday and it hurts. (Emotionally and physically, motherhen.) And I've been trying to nurse this gradually increasing pain in my right eye. Migraine, anyone?

Anyway, fast forward to today, please. Ladies and gentlemen, the driving force behind this entry...

APPROVED!
Approvato, aprobada, genehmigt, approuve! It all translates to: HAPPINESS.
(Thanks to Meryl for the printscreen. I can do it myself but... See, I'm that lazy.)

So as I've said, we had to defend our topic. That happened at 1PM today. Guess what, we did well, probably. Uhm, no. MOST LIKELY. Haha! The moment we sat for defense, the Department Chair said, "I have no questions. I approved this." Huh! What is, I was sure we would get approved no matter what? Hahaha. Fine, I'm too sure of myself that it must hurt. But I was, and I guess I was right to have stuck with the conceit. Haha.

I wish for more bright sunlight and wonderful clouds. (Pun intended. Supertyphoon Megi is on its way to this part of my country. No, please, no. Gah.)

21 Days of Unplanned Hiatus

It has three full weeks since I last wrote an entry. I have so much to tell; the words are in my head, coursing through my veins, itching to be released through the power of my fingertips pounding on my laptop keyboard. I have the words, alright. But do I have the time? No.

Part of me feels bad that I haven't been writing for a long time. I actually learned to manage my time more when I plan to post an entry. Aside from that, it's a way to make incremental improvements with my writing skill and style. Or at least I'd like to think so. On the other hand, the latter part of me feels great that I haven't been spending so much time on the internet for the past few days. I actually accomplished things I don't normally even think about doing.

Time has been my toughest opponent; academics and school organization responsibilities, its mighty underlings. Add to that, internet connection deprivation has been the sole factor for the past seven days.

Now that I'm once again alive in the cyberspace, I plan to keep limiting my "stay" over the internet. New habit: time management. Ha! Gotta love it. Haha.

On the brighter side of things, I say hello to the weekend! It doesn't end there. Since I technically don't have any final exam this finals week, I say hello to you, too, TERM BREAK. Oh, how much you have been anticipated. Fourteen weeks, ay caramba. Around this time, seven days from now, I'll be on Davao soil and breathing (fresh) Davao air!

On the greener side of the fence: UAAP Season 73 FEU-DLSU Round 2 game was awesome! The FEU Tamaraws aren't very unbeatable after all! ;) Thanks to Meryl for the photo!

Happy Hiatus

I'm getting quite used to these hiatuses. It's really nice, you know? Although I still panic whenever I'm actually not doing anything or whenever I'm trying to not get stressed, I have to say, It's very therapeutic. Holy Week this year was definitely less "holy" than the last few years because I don't know why, so to speak. My family still did the tradition, though: did the Way of the Cross, but not Visita Iglesia; stayed home and didn't bathe because it's Good Friday; things like that. Yeah, about the not-bathing thing, don't ask. I've no idea why I comply but it's what my late maternal Lola always ordered us to do. Haha. Hit me up in the comments if you know why, okay? Enlighten me!

I expected to do tons of school work and all that, but I never came around to even thinking about school. Or work, ehem. I slept, pigged out, bonded with my folks, played a lot of games, watched DVDs, doodled, la la la. I felt like a kid again. Everything was so carefree. I wish everyday was carefree.

Holy Wednesday: Meryl and I shot our video PSA about water conservation at Bonifacio High Street with Gabe, my brother, as our talent.

Maundy Thursday: The family did the Way of the Cross and attended the Washing of the Feet at the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart, San Antonio Village, Makati.

Good Friday: I was a total bum. I grew roots on the couch, yo.

Black Saturday: Why is is called such? Enlighten me. I know there's Google but I'm just so lazy. Heehee. I went to the longest mass of the year: Easter Vigil Mass. How long? Try two and a half hours?
So today is Easter Sunday; new life, new start for believers of the risen Christ all over the world. HAPPY EASTER, EVERYBODY! :)
